[ICOM] Query.

I had some intermod here at the home station on
my 228H and 2400H. This was due to another ham
about 1/4 mile from me and a 1 kW paging transmitter
about 1/2 mile away. Filter took care of 99% of it
and the intermod will sometimes break squelch, but
it no longer shows any signal strength indication.

The intermod is really a product of where you live or operate. I defy anyone
with a late model 2 meter radio to cruise some towns in South Florida
(Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Boca Raton) and simply tune it out. Yet my old 228H
hears none of it.

Your experiences will vary with your operating areas. I have a 2720 also and
have it in a second car for traveling. With the PAR filter. Its about the
size of a pack of cigarettes. Remember them?

The 2720 is a nice radio and worth looking at if you want the features.
