Bill,
Give Scott Malcom a call or email. He will likely know for sure what
it might be, also Frank Ellis or Clif might have a handle on the cause.
If its transmitting full power in SSB without mic audio being applied
I would say oscilliation. On the 730 and some others it was a
switching transistor in the RF unit that would cause it.
This rig is similar.
