[ICOM] Icom 706 MKII G and 440

I find the same thing. I think the "all band" radios lack the specs 
needed for working VHF UHF. Intermod is really bad. One good point is 
the pre-amp. Signal quality at 60% then becomes 80 or 90% quieting.
