[ICOM] HELP PK232

I've bought three for my Dell Laptop, none of them has worked and I've spent
$90.00 on them.
They do work - but not on the Dell - they work on some computers, but not
mine.
I wish I had bought the one at Purple Computing or the one you mentioned at
http://www.ionetworks.com/products/usbtoserialconverters/index.jsp
Now that I think about it, a multi-port device would be much better - then I
can control the PK232 and also the ICOM radio. Some of the interfaces need
a serial also - that makes three of them needed.

Dunno - I have 5 of them, from 3 different manufacturers. Never had a
problem with this computer (HP) the previous computer (Cyber-max) or the
laptop (HP). Literally hundreds of these things are in use by the
Geocaching.com users for GPS work. Don't recall anyone having problems.
But I guess somewhere someone just has to have a problem - what would life
be without them. In fact, if it were not for problems, I would be
unemployed!
Bottom line - they work for me. At $10, not much risk involved either.
Mike.
