My IC-02AT manual states that only the AT
version has the subaudible tone encoding.

I think the O2AT had the built in CTCSS whereas the
O2A did not.
These were THE radios to have when they first came out
in the early 80s. First HT to have CTCSS tones
included in the software. First HT to run directly
off of 12 volts. Still not a bad radio by todays
standards, although a little big. They use the common
BP2/3/4/5/7/8 series of batteries that the 2AT and
HTX202 also use.
The audio output was kind of low unless you did a mod
for it. I had a O2AT that was not modded and a O4AT
that was, and it made a world of difference.
Wish I could find an O3AT for that price.
