[ICOM] IC-761 trimmer question

Hi Jack,
We have done this repair several times without any customer returns. The
problem you are experiencing is not with the VCO trimmers, more likely in
the carrier offset trimmer(s) or main oscillator trimmer, and could be a
defective main oscillator itself. When these (VCO, etc.) trimmers are
changed (even if the original plastic type trimmers are put back in) the
problem goes away, not to return for many years. In my opinion your tech
just missed troubleshooting the problem. Nothing wasted though as the VCO
trimmers are very problematic and should be replaced SOP.
