[Icom] PW-1 Shutdown

Bud,
The amp was sent to Icom for repair. Resister overheaded and failed, taking
out some foil on the board.
The problem was in the power supply. Low air flow.
As it turns out, there is a sponge type filter fastened to the inside of the
cover on the right side of the amp. This is were the air enters for cooling
the power supply. This is the main air flow to the amp when only the fan
that allways runs is on.
I told Icom that they needed to document the location of this filter in
there manual, so that others would be able to clean or replace the filter
before damage occurred.
Still paid about $200.00 for repair. Few dolloars in parts and mostly labor.
With freight/insurance both ways, total cost to me was about $400.00.
