Hello Group,

Someone recently asked a question about the remote control for a 751A. Not sure about the 'A' model but for the IC-751 the remote is an RC-10.

Allows direct frequency entry to the transceiver and has push button controls for changing between VFO's and also the frequency announcement if the optional speech unit is fitted.

If you like the idea of having direct frequency entry then is worthwhile but otherwise, just a nice accessory that doesn't do a lot.

Best regards,

Des - VK3DMP.

Hi Des,

The RC-10 will also work correctly on all 3 versions of the IC-751A.

Cheers for now, 73,

Question to anyone using the 756 PRO with the AH-4 external tuner:

When you change bands does the transceiver automatically switch briefly to
XMIT to provide RF for Tuner adjustment? Or, do you have to take a specific
action, such as depressing the "Transmit" button on the front of the rig?

WHY I ASK. A company called Quicksilver Radio offers a gizmo (see April 2005
QST, p.146) called a TuneRiteâ„¢ designed to make the "PRO believe that it is
connected to an AH-4." The transceiver will provide about 8 watts RF for about
10 seconds for antenna tuner adjustment. This interests me cause I use a
Johnson Matchbox tuner on several bands. The device would allow me to make
more rapid band change tune-ups.

I'm trying to determine if the activation of the transmitter [for tuning]
would require my action (preferred) or if it would be automatic with each band
change?

If it is anything similar to the device I use on my IC-706
to tune my High Sierra screwdriver type antenna, you
will have to push the TUNE button to activate the device.
I know that there are several folks building these devices.
