When you plug the tuner module into the tuner connection of the 706 MK II G 
it allows the tune button on the front of the rig to operate. When the tune 
button is pushed, the 706 thinks there is a tuner attached and it outputs a 
approx 10 watt cw tone for approx 7-10 seconds. This can be very handy  for 
tuning an antenna. On my personal setup, I use a 706 MK II G for mobile with 
a High Sierra screwdriver. I know approx where to run the antenna to and 
then I activate the "tune" button and while the tone is activated, I fine 
tune my antenna for a perfect swr match. They do work great and there are 
several on the market. Try ebay. Good luck.
