[ICOM] Icom 7000?

According to Icom, it isn't a 706 replacement. Do I believe that? Not
entirely. Icom has a best seller and probably a couple of years worth of
stock of IC-706 MKIIGs. My thinking is that they raised the price of the
706 to keep the gap from being to large between the two rigs. This means
more people will want to pay that 'little' extra to buy the newer rig so
Icom can recover their R&D and initial manufacturing costs better. If the
706 drops too low, everyone will rush to buy the 706 and sales on the 7000
will suffer. Later as they recover their costs and the 706 has its own
market, I have no doubt that Icom will officially discontinue the 706.

I am certainly interested in the 7000. I wish I could own a few myself. ;)
