[ICOM] Amp Keying Question Again

I got a IC-756PRO3 at Dayton and little by little I am getting all hooked up to the station.
Yesterday my daughters gave me a 'AmpKeyer' device for FatherDay. (I wonder how they knew?).
This box will go between the PRO3 and my Drake L-7.
Here is my questions:
1. There are two places to hookup the connection on the PRO3, either the RCA Jack or the ACC 1 connector. Is one better than the other? Can I take the 12 volts off the ACC 1 to run the interface?

2. Since I am keying the Amp with a solid state device in side the AmpKeyer, is there anyway to bypass the relay in the PRO3? On my TS-850S, I was able to turn off the internal relay and use the +12 volts on xmit to drive a transistor circuit. BTW the voltage on the Drake is 24 Volts.

Other than that, the PRO3 seems to be working FB for me. I really like the digital display for the S-meter with the mini-scope above.
