Hi Everyone,
After changing my mind several times, I have reached a decision to offer my flawless IC-775DSP for sale.
I bought it new in November 2002, a FINAL production run unit (s/n 2722) so every factory update is installed. This rig is one of the very last to be sold the USA being purchased new by me from Jim Smith at Burghardt Amateur Center after they obtained the last 80 units from ICOM America at the time of the 775DSP closeout.
I am a non-smoker and radio has been used casually, mainly for Dx'ing (no contesting here). Kept under covers when not in use. Meticulous appearance. I bought it as an indulgence. I now want to move on to try others.
It has the CR-282 TCXO installed for rock solid frequency stability and accuracy.
I have performed the following to enhance filtering: The stock FL-80 was replaced with a new (NOS) ICOM FL-70 identical to the FL-80 except rated at 2.8 KHz @ -6 db to broaden out audio response. The stock FL-96 has been replaced with a new ICOM FL-257 rated at 3.3 KHz @ -6db to further enhance receive and transmit audio. The results are impressive. (Others have done this change and reported similar results on various reflectors and reviews over the years.)
Then...A NEW (NOS) FL-80 was installed (via a custom pc board to match pin alignment on the 775 Main Board) in the 'narrow' 9 MHz slot and a NEW (NOS) FL-44A was installed in the other 'narrow' 455 KHz slot. This combination of filters provides both smooth transmit and receive audio as well as selectable, enhanced narrower receive selectivity without an extremely 'pinched' rx audio response that the FL-222 and FL-223 produce. Should you wish to restore the original filtering the original FL-80 and Fl-96 pair will be included for $100 additional with the '775.
The FL-102 AM filter is also installed.
ICOM owners and SERVICE manuals are included. It will be shipped in the original ICOM double boxes.
Ship UPS Ground/insured CONUS for $2,095. ($2195 with the additional, spare filters mentioned above)
A rare specimen enhanced for superior receive and transmit audio and selectivity.
A better example of this radio you will not find. An elegant rig. Collector Quality.
Check me out at QRZ.com. I am well known on the ICOM and Ten Tec reflectors for many years.
Regrettably no jpegs for lack of a digital camera.
E-mail me with your questions or interest.
