[ICOM] AH-4 Icom antenna tuner

If your Yaesu and TH7DX aren't providing DX
something is DRASTICALLY wrong with one
or both of them.
As much as I love my IC-706 Mk II, YOUR Yaesu
SHOULD run rings around a 706 for performance.
I haven't used either the StepIR or the Force 12
XR (?) 5-band beams but if your TH7 has gone
putrid on you, I would say you might try one or
of these. The StepIR is intriguing to me, but I
wonder about the mechanical complexity of it
and fragility of the fiberglass tubes. The Force 12
should be really reliable from a physical standpoint.
Another antenna of which I have read good tests
is the one made by Bencher. I can't remember its
name now.
I moved to a small lot when I lost previous QTH
with tower, beams, etc. to a tornado in 1999.
My thoughts of beams are on back burner, but
I am considering one of the three above at such
time as I can once again have an antenna farm!
Again, I still think your antenna SYSTEM must be
extremely sick!

Subject: [ICOM] AH-4 Icom antenna tuner
I am thinking about the AH-4 for my 706 MKIIG.
I will run at 100w.
I have an 80m dipole and a TH7DX.
With the AH-4 tuner and the 706, should I expect that I can
work DX on 17 and 12 better than I can work DX now using
the FT 1000MP and TH7DX on 17 and 12 which is poor, poor, poor.
thanks
