[ICOM] Icom kind of disappointing at Hamcomm

At the Dayton "unveiling" of the IC-7000, it was clear that this new rig is
not yet ready for prime-time. Most of the important details were not
available. ICOM was very non-committal about receiver performance. All the
ICOM reps I spoke to danced around the subject, and it was obvious they had
all been told not to be specific. I got the impression it was just a box
with nothing definite inside... yet.

About all I got from it was that it will cost $1400 to $1600, is not
intended to replace the IC-706MkIIG, and will incorporate some of the
features of the IC-7800.... and, oh yes, we'll be able to watch VHF TV on
it. Oh, joy....

I wish they'd wait until they have an actual radio before they unveil
it.....
