I'm not suggesting you buy a Heil mic, but get on their website and see
if 
it won't tell you which pin number on the Icom mic has +8v or so on it.
You 
will need to put a capacitor in series with that lead in your mic
somewhere 
so you don't damage it.  Other than that, your mic might not have enough

drive to work the 728, but you won't hurt anything by trying.  The audio
out 
of the mic jack on Icom rigs I have used for RTTY and such for years.  I

don't have any Icom HF rigs right now, so can't look that info up for
you, 
but I am sure I saw it on Heil's site, as he brags about including that 
capacitor in some of his mics so they don't get damaged by Icoms!!  Hope
