Hi Bob:
The cables that are shown on the URL in your email are designed to
connect the "RigExpert" interface unit to your radio and the computer.
See: http://www.mixw.net/RigExpert/.
I am using the "RigExpert Tiny" (http://www.mixw.net/RigExpertTiny/)
with my IC-756 ProII. It works great.
The "RigExpert" and the "RigExpert Tiny" replace Icom's grossly
overpriced CT-17 CI-V level converter and also include interface
connections for the PC's sound card as well as PTT and CW keying
connections for the radio. In addition, they interface with your PC by
USB instead of a Serial port.

Subject: [ICOM] Computer Interface Problem
I have an Icom 728 and am trying to do an interface to my computer.
It looks like (according to this link) that I only need to use my serial
cable for controlling the rig and for audio input and output.
Can someone confirm this for me?

Code may be taking a back seat for now,
but the pioneering spirit that put the code
there in the first place is out front of it all.
