Jim: You did not mention in your problem description if you have the ALC line connected to your amplifier. If you do, and the ALC is not properly adjusted, this could also be a cause of the problem. Another way to adjust the input of the amplifier is to connect an SWR meter at the input of the amplifier, apply a little drive to the amp, and band by band, adjust the input coils for the lowest SWR.
