Hi Jerry
Big problems with six meters. Never leave the auto tuner on when
switching from six to another band as per the manual. You can turn on
the tuner once you are their but before leaving turn it back off. Or
tuner failure could happen ..
Also six meters is very susceptible to static discharge as Icom has told
me when plugging in my six metre antenna that it took out diodes and
other items in the tuner causing the radio to stop working on six.
That was the first time . The second time it failed { partial failure
shortly after it was returned from icom service center led to six only
working with the tuner in line then complete failure after only six
months from point of return} it did the same thing and with it took out
all out put transistors.. First repair one day before warranty expired ,
Second repair cost me close to two hundred . Be Careful read the
section pertaining to tuner use on six meters or self oscillation can
happen..
