Rick,

Thank for the info I will look that screws but what is strange that the
problem came out from the blue sky so I am worried that is somenthing
like self oscillation of the receiver amplifier due to the aging of some
componenets and a lot of heat developped by this little RTX.

I have not had that happen on either of mine. I would suggest opening up
the radio and snugging up the screws that hold the circuit board to the
chassis. It seems odd to start after 5 years for such a dependable radio
so this might help. Loose ground points are a source of problems. I
installed star washers on the 706 in my truck. If you do something like
this you must have the proper size star washer and make sure it doesn't
touch something it is not supposed to.If this doesn't help maybe you'll
find the answer from someone else in the group. Good Luck, Rick.

In other word the birdies start at about 50.200 and after about half hour I find it at 50.150. Has any body experienced this kind of problem?
