[ICOM] IC-756PRO - Thumping, flickering screen, reset

I had a similar problem using a GE-MVP for 9600 packet use. The radio is a
35 watt rig and the output was way down. Turned out to be the finger tight
binding posts were not tight enough. Using pliers to tighten them solved
the problem. So even a 1 volt drop across a high resistance connection can
cause troubles.

In the Icom internal supplies the current shunt used to crack where it was
soldered to the PC board and the crack would open under high current
conditions. Lowering the power to about 50% would solve the problem.
