Oops...I quoted ARRL as saying:

""Under the same conditions at 5 kHz spacing---something
more akin to real-world amateur conditions (and this
time well within the passband of the receiver's 1 kHz
roofing filter)---we determined the PROIII's TOI to
be -17 dBm, 1.8 dB better than the -18.8 dBm we
calculated for its predecessor."

         Correct that "1 kHz roofing filter" to 15 kHz in
the PRO III.  I'm sure the results would have been
vastly different with a 1 kHz filter!  :-)  But not
feasible at the PRO's 45 MHz IF.
