[ICOM] Roofing filters

>From INRAD web page:

 Here is the list of radios which George will be looking at and in the
approximate order.

    * Omni VI series (applies to Omni V also)
    * IC-775
    * FT-1000
    * IC-765
    * TS-950SDX

With the limited help that George has, each radio takes several months to
complete. The steps required are:

   1. Obtain a radio
   2. Test the OEM condition to establish a baseline.
   3. Obtain the appropriate filter samples (2 months)
   4. Design and breadboard the associated circuitry needed.
   5. Run initial tests on the radio with the breadboard circuits.
   6. If testing is successful, have the pc layout done by a sub contractor.
   7. Have the pc boards made and obtain the filters.
   8. Build a pilot run and run tests.
   9. Announce the product, take a list and go into production.

Update 1-20-05: At this time the Omni mod is in stage 9. The FT-1000 is in
stage 6. The IC-765 and the IC-775 are in stage 4. The TS-950SDX has not
been started. We get many inquiries about mods for other radios, but we
cannot start any more until we are mostly done with this list.

There is one now for the Ten Tec OMNI VI, too. I am testing one now
and it sure improves things (even for the OMNI :-)

You ought to email George at INRAD. He may be thinking about that, he
did one for the Yaesu, now the Ten Tec, I don't know what radio he'll
look at next. I know it is not the Kenwood 850 (I asked about that
one.)
