I've had four pros...analog, pro, proII, and proIII.
I'd go with the three. Much quieter, better receiver. Format of three screens on LCD very nice...being able to adjust filters, dsp settings and so on while still using the spectrim scope.
The new DSP devices in the III are faster, quieter...and the items brought over from the 7800 are very nice improvement...I have II and III side by side through pw-1...
Perhaps the biggest plus...a new band...60 meters in the proIII...having a ball on there
After all is said and done...if you are a casual operator, with no "pro" experience...save your money...you won't know what you're missing...
