I buy a new radio maybe once every 10 to 15 years so when I do I get the
latest and the greatest.
So if I were to purchase a new radio today it would be the III.
No experience with the III but I do like my II.

Subject: [ICOM] Closeout 756Pro II's
Hi Guys,
I see AES and HRO still have some closeout Pro2's for $2200.
They won't last forever.
The Pro III's are $3000.
Assuming a typical station (evenings and weekends, occasional contests but
not submitting log, etc.)
Which way to go?
The Pro III has been out long enough now to have some sense of the value in
the additional $800.
Anyone experienced both radios? !!!
