Jerry,
I use a 756 PRO II and PW-1 with beverage antennas as well. I had to
install a "front end protector" in order to prevent what appeared to be
feedback into the PW-1 ALC circuitry. The receive antenna is disconnected
and grounded during transmit now and it all works very well. Be sure and
turn the PRO II antenna tuner "OFF" while using the receive antenna. The
PW-1 does all of the tuning anyway.
I also used the keying output from the PRO II to control the relays in the
"front end protector" so that I can use either full or semi BK-IN.

When I select the Receive Only antenna "Ant 1/R" (by depressing and holding
the Ant 1/Ant 2 button) will the ProII then toggle between "Transmit on Ant
1" and "Receive on the Receive Only antenna" ?
I would test this, but I'm concerned that a beverage antenna connected to
the Rx Antenna jack might remain connected during transmit on Ant 1, with
adverse consequences to the radio. I'm running a KW from a PW-1 amp. Should
I be concerned about this? Are protective measures needed?
