[ICOM] IC-745 Freq Drift

The 2 LO osc used to be the problem.
Actually if you look at the specs + -500 Hz is within the published spec up
to 1 hour warm up then less than +-100 Hz the +- 1000 Hz in the range of
-10 to + 60 degrees C. The IC-745 generally don't move around that much.
Does it have the internal power supply? sometimes a fan installed inside of
the 745 would blow on the 2 LO osc crystal and cause the drift.

I don't have Scott Malcom's current address dba as Malcom Tech Support but
others here might also Kuni Okuma dba as Comtek. Both can repair this rig
very well. Its a good rig,

The VCO trimmers will cause distorted RX audio and make received signals
very hard to tune in if not totally distorted.
So far as I remember and in looking in the owners manual there was no High
Stability oscillator available for the IC-745.

I have a IC-745 that has developed a horrendous frequency drift as it warms
>up during transmit. After a minute or so of TX, the frequency starts to
>drift as much as 350Hz - this is especially maddning when operating digital.
>Thanks!
