Dave,

One of the guys I regularly speak with recently purchased a 2005 Outback and
wanted to install a MKIIG. He gave up and had the dealer bore a hole in the
firewall and run some heavy cable into the passenger compartment per his
specifications. It cost him $60. I believe it was well worth it and I intend
to do the same when I purchase a new Outback in the spring.

I understand some other folks have also had the wire run by car stereo
installation shops for $25-$35. They install radios in all sorts of vehicles
and should know their way around the body and chassis.
