Hi Bill,

Many thanks for the kind comments.

The phrase "dBm from Heaven" has a history. As an EE student any years ago,
I recall our Electrical Communications lecturer at University, back in 1963,
explaining the 9 dB S/N advantage of SSB over AM. His statement: "Gentlemen,
here we have kilowatts from Heaven!" was unforgettable.

Last year, my friends George W5YR, Andrew ZS1AN and I were researching the
possibilities of using the Pro2  attenuator and RF gain control to quiet
down background noise without degrading overall S/N.  We dubbed our
procedure "dBm from Heaven", in honour of that lecturer long ago.
