[ICOM] Question about the original 706

HI guys

 I have an 706 org right here in the shack still going after all these years. 
 The button that some of you asking about is the P.AMP\ATT that shuts it off 
or on.  And yes the fan does run all the time but never bothered me.  I had 
purchased this rig new in 1996 go ICOM.
