Ya I have had that chewing too. :) We tried and tried for 220 MHz but the
old 38A, and geeze I forget I think the IC-2330 did not survive. I don't
know if slow 220 MHz sales or the expense of a limited area to sell the
product was the undoing.
I never thought the fan noise was to bad either but in a real quiet vehicle
or shack it was certainly there. We did try to take an make suggestions
especially when the factory was thinking about a new product. I used to
have a whole laundry list to go into those meetings with or place onto the
list that crossed the desk. Anyway it was an interesting 11 years.
By the way I do some contract show work for Icom from time to time and on
January 22, 2005 I will be at Houston Amateur Radio for an Icom Day.
