Hi Tony:
Being a newcomer to the list, I am glad to make your acquaintance.
Like I said, I had the pleasant surprise to see that at least here in 4Zulu
land there are quite a few hams ready to embark on  a shoe string operation
, on a note , like you said, and make do with mad solutions that work. Due
to the fact that here we have problems in getting equipment and accessories,
improvisation is still a thriving art. Lucky !
