                 I would try adjusting what you tell me to adjust but have no test equipment other than a vom and a golden screwdriver. If all I need to do is adjust a pot or something simple I am willing to try that but do not want to cause any further issues.  I have the owners manual but not the service manual.

  Just the way the synthesizer and radio is built. It gets out of adjustment 
  and the radio happily scans past strong signals.
  I found a service manual on mods dk I have not opened it yet but will try 
  to have a look this weekend and point you to y\the spot as I remember the 
  issue.
