Maybe you can't do it with just the rig itself, but
all you need to do is correctly hook up some sort
of audio recording device to the RX output and
later feed it back into the transmitter. All you need
to do is to reasonably match impedances and set
levels for reasonably undistorted audio.
Many years ago, the Drake C-4 Console of the
Drake 4-Line had the capability to do this with
a tape recorder. I used it to record "CQ Contest,
this is -- etc.) during long dead spaces in the
ARRL 10 Meter Contests in the mid-70s.
All it takes is a bit of ham-ingenuity. Heck, Radio
Shack might even have some sort of switching
box to hellp in the project.

No, it is not. According to Icom Japan, that function is barred in all
variants of the 756Pro series.
