It is time to retire my IC-27A which I use on the flying bridge of my boat.
I am undecided about which new rig to buy, a 2100, 2200, or a V-8000. My
main requirements are reliability, ability to withstand exposure to rain
(but salt spray is not a problem), and ability to operate on battery voltage
when the batteries are not being charged by engine alternator or battery
charger (battery bank size is 730 ah.)
I was down at Icom, Bellevue today dropping off another radio for service
but couldn't get the individual writing up my order to comment on which of
the three radios noted was the most reliable.
Does the list have comments on which of the three rigs noted might best fit
my requirements?
Thanks in advance.
