Hi Tim,

I agree 100%. I've had my 765 for over 15 years and it's a great rig. It
doesn't have DSP but the receiver is very quiet and has great rejection of
close-by signals. For $ 900 or less you can't find a better transceiver.

Really surprised no one has mentioned the IC-765. It is a  tremendous value
at under $900.00. Its receiver blocking specifications and sensitivity are
better than the other radios suggested. Go to the ARRL web site for more
information concerning the product review and the ranking of performance.
