[ICOM] Re: Availability of lamp parts for IC-375A

My 375A and 575H seem to have developed a problem with some
of the front panel lamps. I suppose this is only reasonable given
their age.

Icom says they have replacement bulbs for $2.01 each. I found
that rather high, given that once you're in the rig for this kind of
repair it makes sense to do them all.

The Icom part number is hrs-7219a-y2 30. I remember there being
a comment on this list last summer, where someone had gotten the
right lamp some place else.

While $8 a rig isn't that horrid, if I could find a cheaper source it
would be nice. Or is $2 a lamp reasonable? Are the Icom lamps
better quality? I learned long ago that being afraid to spend money
for the "right" part is a waste, but at the same time if I can find the
equivalent part cheaper, I'll do that.

Comments? Advice on how hard it is to change them out? I just
found a 375 service manual so I'm set there.

Thanks all,
