Here's a rough pidgin-French translation:
It is under this denomination (IC-7000) that the successor of the
IC-706 MKIIG is advertised. We should know rather quickly when it will
be available, according to information communicated by ICOM France, as
of the second quarter of 2005.
This sketch, resulting from the CAD drawings, shows a rather unusual
piece, somewhat revolutionary! Veiled the color screen adapts to the
TX/RX multiband (HF/VHF/UHF) mobile and has a separatable control
panel.
Here are the principal characteristics of this announcement:
The apparatus will be equipped with a DSP "FI" which will control a
double PBT and the noise reduction functions. These features come from
the heritage of more sophisticated ICOM models (implies 756, 7800).
The IC-7000 will not need optional filters
UHF power close to 35 W.
Color TFT screen is 5cm.
Great frequency stability (0.5 ppm)
508 memory channels
Scanning has multiple functions
Built in voice recorder and clock
Design of the panel controls entirely re-examined, to emulate features
of larger radios
Large VFO knob
Length is 20 mm less than IC-706
Keys with larger dimensions
Microphone with 10 control keys
Control Panel separatable
"The other characteristics are those of the IC-706MKIIG"
It is useless to say to you that we await it impatiently. It will be
perhaps your companion of holidays, no?
Vive la France
