I've had problems like that before.  I simply couldn't get the idiot
thing off, 'till I start fidgeting with a dental pick on the little spring
latch that was holding the battery on.  After entertaining my kids
with various examples of foul language, the battery slipped off.

I forget which battery did this to me.  Overall I haven't been that
impressed with the way Batteries America makes things.  I have
their 6 cell pack for my T81A, but I've had to make adjustments
to it in order to keep the batteries tightly seated.

If the battery off the rail, you can manover it and get it off, by
wiggling it back and forth.  That isn't pleasent either, but it does
work.
