[ICOM] 756 Pro III vs. Tentec Orion

The ICOM radios have "dedicated front ends" - they are called "band pass 
filters".

I agree though a narrow filter as the first i.f. stage (roofing filter) is a 
wonderful thing, but it is inconvienent if not done automatically by 
switching it in and out when different modes are used.

A radio with a 100 Hz roofing filter is pretty bullet proof, but darned 
difficult to tune - you have to tune VERY VERY slowly.
