Good morning Bob...
Thanks for your timely and informative information. I am looking at the
2720, also the Yaesu 8800 and 8900, don't know for sure which way I will
go but your input certainly helps.
Have a nice holiday and a good upcoming 2006.
73,
Kay

Subject: [ICOM] IC2720H Radio
Hi Kay,
I own 2 2720s and our county R.A.C.E.S. has over a dozen in strategic
locations. The intermod susceptibility is no worse than any other radio
with wide band coverage. The dual band antenna is mounted on the EOC
tower along with all the VHF/UHF public safety antennas.
I do use the DCI 144-444DB filter on my fixed station because the
antenna is up 80 feet and I want to hear/work weak simplex stations.
This is necessary because I live close to a hospital with 3 250W VHF
paging transmitters on 152.24, 158.7 and the hospitals 160 something.
In the mobile I just work repeaters and the squelch/attenuator works
fine.
Operating the radio from the front panel is a nightmare, however from
the microphone is sweet.
HNY,
Bob, W3PT
