[ICOM] IC2720H Radio

I've had two 2720s. Intermod is no worse than any other dual-band I've used.
The squelch attenuator is a big help. Operation is NOT intuitive. I always
have to use the manual when doing operations like selecting a channel group
or placing a memory in a channel group, and others. I find this very
frustrating at times. Casual observation of the transmitter and receive
quality is very good. I prefer the operation of a Yaesu FT-8100, but they
are an even bigger intermod sponge than the 2720. One thing I found the
other day. I you have a channel with the tone squelch function activated.
Then attempt to initiate a memory scan. It went into "tone scan". If I want
to scan the memories, I must start it from a memory that has tone squelch
activated. I don't know what you'd do if all the memories were using tone
squelch. In the future, I plan to get another IC-2800. I think it's a better
rig than the 2720. I don't have the serial number. I am not at home right
now.

73,
Ed KA9EES
