Methinks you were correct the first time!!!

4700 pF = 4.7 nF = .0047 uFd

Each step moves decimal point three places to the left.

For resistors:

4R7 = 4.7 ohms
4K7 = 4.7K ohms
4M7 = 4.7 megohms 

For capacitors:

4p7 = 4.7 pF
47p = 47 pF
4n7 = 4.7 nF or 4700 pF or .047 uF
10n = 10nF or .01 uF
