Hi Pete,
As in all things, responsible usage is the key. (Whether there is anything
on TV worth risking one's neck for is a debate for another evening.)
As far as I am aware, Icom will not make a fuss about user-performed mods on
in-warranty radios - unless the person doing the mod causes damage. Then all
bets are off.

No big deal here. I just would not want a TV anywhere in my viewing angle
when I'm behind the wheel. But, then again, it gives you something to do if
you're wrapped around a tree waiting for help to arrive.
I wonder if this mod would impact "any" warranty repairs on the 7000 if you
returned the rig to Icom USA.
