Man this is a nice radio, just took delivery of it today
and already have worked Portugal on my little double
bazooka at twenty feet on 80 meters.

What a radio!!!

Now I know what you guys have been ranting and raving
about finally.

I just couldn't believe a radio could be all that you guys
have said that it was until now.

Now I cant believe it, I just thought I had owned a radio
before getting this one, the others are all tinker toys.

Now if I could just get this HEIL HM-10 W/HC5 to work
right. The element came not soldered to the wires (red,
black, white) and there is no diagram.

So I had to make my own condenser mic tonight so I could
work the dx.

Only problem with this radio is its so quiet compared to
the FT-920 I just traded for it you cant tell its on
unless you turn the volume up all the way and hook up the
external speaker I have, so you can hear the noise in the
background.

It sounds like the squelch is on all the time, until a
voice comes through then I have to rush over and turn it
down. Hi Hi

Code may be taking a back seat for now,
but the pioneering spirit that put the code
there in the first place is out front of it all.
