[ICOM] IC-756PRO Dualwatch

This is kinda long so please hang in there with me.

Ok dual watch.

I should be taking ownership of my IC-756PRO on Monday so:

I am reading the manual and it says "Dualwatch monitors 2
frequencies with the same mode simultaneously."

"During Dualwatch, both frequencies should be on the same
band, because the bandpass filter in the RF circuit is
selected for the main readout frequency."

Now I have heard from FT-1000D owners that the only
disadvantage of the Dualwatch for the ICOM 756PRO is that
it "has to be on the same band" unlike the 1000D which can
be on a different band.

Now not knowing how well the english is here but knowing
that "should be" does not mean "must be" it would seem to
me that I could select a different band for Dualwatch if I
was satisfied with the same bandpass filter as the main
frequency readout has.

Is that true or should the manual read "must be on the
same band".

Now on the FT-920 which I have just owned the "dual watch"
is a joke because all it is is a scanner and more or less
disables receive because you have to use the squelch
circuit to even use the dual watch.

I am wanting to use dual watch in order to monitor the
progress of DX window openings as the DX signal gets
stronger while I work on another band a different DX
station.

Example:
Working pile up on 40 CW while monitoring 80 CW, ect.

Or listening for openings on 6 Meters on .125 while
working DX on lower bands.

So if I am reading this correctly I can do this as long as
I am satisfied with the bandpass selection for the main
readout.

Is this true?

Code may be taking a back seat for now,
but the pioneering spirit that put the code
there in the first place is out front of it all.
