[ICOM] Remote control of Icom 718

I am remote controlling my Icom 718 with a Desk Top
PC. I am experiencing severe interference to the
computer when I transmit on the Icom 718. In fact the
computer drops off the internet when I transmit with
the Icom 718.

In addition, but not as serious of a problem, is the
interference by the tcomputer that is heard in the
receiver of the Icom 718.

If I were to move the Icom 718 a significant distance
from the computer, in an attempt to reduce RF field
near the computer, I would have to add significant
length to the control line from the interface to the
Icom 718. What would be the effect of significantly
lengthening the cable between the computer interface
and the Icom 718?

Has anyone experienced similar problems using Icom HF
transceivers and computers in close proximity to each
other. Were you able to resolve the problem and what
did you do to accomplish the resolution?

Any and all intelligent help and suggestions
appreciated, ESPECIALLY THOSE BASED UPON ACTUAL
EXPERIENCE. Yes they are plugged in and I do have lots
of toroids.
