Of course, Steve, ICOM stateside would most likely not warranty it, but what 
in the world would FCC type acceptance have to do with any issue on a rig 
purchased in Singapore?  repair ...  ...    hmnmnmnmn.  They are omnipotent, 
but ....  =];?}   Also working on getting one of the new Tokyo High Power 
2KW solid state amps... golleeeee .. even has 1ØM!
BTW, I have never had to send a rig to ICOM for warranty -- YET  --- Yaesu, 
yes .. ICOM, no ... Kenwood no .. (did them myself. HIHI) ..   Here use 
IC-756P2, 7Ø6MKIIG, and 736, 2ØØØ, et al........had ICOMs since 1972-3....

Um, before you plunk down the money for it, it might be a good
idea to make sure that Icom America will service it.  I also wonder
if there are any FCC type acceptance issues?
