[ICOM] Multiple mode filters in 756

I have an Icom 756 original and currently have the FL100 500hz CW filter installed. However, it would be nice to have a slightly narrower filter for SSB work also, and in the 756 you can only install 1 filter at each IF.  I realize that I would lose the ability to cascade filters, but am wondering if anyone has tried using a 1.9khz SSB filter at the 1 IF and a narrow CW filter at the other IF.  I also realize that the passband tuning wouldn't work as well when the filters were engaged, but should be fine without the filters engaged.  I would probably install the 1.9KHZ filter in the 9mhz IF, and the INRAD 400hz CW filter in the 455khz IF.  Any ideas how this would work?
