Around a year ago I was on 2-meters and was listing to two Exters Talk
bought the something. One told the other "If you receive on High Power and
Transmit on low power" this would extend your battery time. I don't know, I
never tried it.

Subject: [ICOM] Low Power Transmitting?
I have an ICOM 725 that I want to install in my boat but I dont want
to drain the battery when the engine is not running. Will turning
down the output power reduce the power consumption or only the output?
