Earl,

I agree with your comments on that particular T-T engineering fix, I'd be
disappointed also, but I've been buying radios from them since 1967 and been
pleased - I know key engineering people have "moved on" but the fact that
they returned your money says something decent about the company.

But the fact that they pulled the Orion - that says a lot too about the
radio and the company. The company knew it should no longer sell the Orion
in the form it was in.

I don't think that T-T does the "beta testing" they should do on prototypes.
There have been a bunch of bugs: Triton 4 Digital (noise), First bunch of
"Scout" (drifting), Orion (sk). This shouldn't be. The I, K and Y brands
don't have as many of these problems - but they have some.

Unfortunately, some of the things T-T does well - but they once were a
leader, but they're now trying to play "catch up" to the Oriental imports.

With ICOM, I rarely have to wait to see if it is a "good one", but if it is
a bad one, I won't get my money back.

That's when I requested a refund, so they kept
the radio and sent me the money (which I used to buy a new Pro2).
